Blessings everyone,

I serve as a pastor’s wife, to my wonderful husband, Tom, and I am mother to four great children.

Being in the ministry for 15 years has given me the opportunity to work with various activities within the church. I think I have held every position from janitor to counselor, and I have learned so much!

I attended Master’s Divinity in Evansville, IN for a Bachelor of Ministry degree in Biblical Counseling, and I continue to work with my husband in the ministry.

I look forward to sharing with you through Crosseyedliving, the Kentucky Baptist Convention Women’s Ministry Area blog. May the Lord bless you and your ministry.

Firefighters

In my household being a volunteer fireman is extremely important.   My husband,Tom is a fireman as well as the Chaplin for the unit.  My oldest son Jordan (he is 21) is a fireman and my youngest son, Taylor (he is 15) is a junior firefighter.  I am very proud of all three of them, but [...]

Hereditary?

First let me say thank you to all of you for your prayers during my surgery.  I am slowly recovering and dealing with all of the issues that go along with a major surgery.  Please continue to pray as I heal and gain strength. I went to the surgeon today for my pre-op appointment.  She told [...]

The joys and trails of the night shift

This past week I have been working nights at the hospital.  I am a phlebotomist there and nights are a lot slower paced than day shift.  Well, that is until around 3:30 am when morning rounds start.  It is definitely not my favorite shift.  My sleeping and eating patterns get messed up, I don’t get [...]

In His hands.

I was driving to work the other day listening to a contemporary Christian station, which in itself is new for me.  I am a Southern Gospel kind of gal, but my husband and children love the new music so I am trying to adapt.  A  song was playing that talked about how no matter what [...]

How is your vision?

I was listening to a song on the way to work today and it talked about how our eye is so small, but yet we see so much from it.  I started thinking about that concept.  Two of  the smallest organs in the body, but yet they show us so much about our world…and ourselves [...]

Proud of son’s service

So today I am doing the “Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy Dance”.   My son was scheduled to leave for Afghanistan this summer, but he had a foot injury and found out today that he will not be deployed.   He is upset because he joined the Marines to make a difference and serve with his company.  I [...]

Marriage 101 session 3

As I begin to write this third session I pray that you are finding them helpful in your own marriage.  Or maybe you feel led to share them with someone else. Today I want to talk to you about confrontation.  In some marriages this is a true dirty word!!  Confrontation is inevitable in a marriage, it [...]

Marriage 101 session 2

I would like to continue with most common things I see in marriage counseling.  Last time we talked about finances and I pray that it made you look closer at your own marital finances.  Today I am going to talk about a touchy subject…family and friends. I see a major source of marital problems falls within [...]

Marriage 101 session 1

I do a lot of marriage counseling and thought I would take this time to share some ideas that I have found helpful.  Being a new year it seems a good time to start fresh in your marriage as well. One of the first things I do when meeting with a couple is find out how [...]
