Several of my Facebook friends have started posting something they are thankful for each day in November. What a wonderful testimony to all who will read them! A whole month of reflecting on our blessings!
First and foremost, I am thankful for my eternal security through my Savior, Jesus Christ! Without Him, this life would be meaningless! We all should have a testimony to share and what an easy way to witness to all your contacts at once by posting daily.
As I look back over the past year, our family has experienced many ups and downs, but we remain thankful to our Lord for his watchcare and love. My husband’s lymphoma returned resulting in a second bone marrow stem cell transplant and being away from home and family for the entire spring and summer. Through this long and trying ordeal, we experienced so many blessings in our lives despite the circumstances. I am anxious to share what God has done! Most of all, we are so thankful his cancer is once again in remission.
One of our greatest blessings arrived on April 2, 2011 – our first grandson, Ty! Words truly cannot describe what he means to our lives! We are blessed and humbly thankful for our wonderful children and grandchildren who enrich our lives.
I could go on and on about my family, and other blessings in my life, but the point is for each of us to take the time to stop and reflect on what we are truly thankful for and give God the glory, for He is worthy of our praise! We so often get wrapped up in the busyness of life or in the weight of our troubles, that we don’t focus on what we do have and the positives in our lives. We also take so much for granted! We too often neglect to thank the Lord for His bountiful goodness.
I challenge each of you to make a list of what you are thankful for, then share that list. Even if you’re not on Facebook or Twitter, you can still send emails to all your family and friends letting them know what you’re thankful for, reminding yourself and them of the blessings in your life.
