I am certain!

Life is tough… I’ve said that before though right? I was just talking to a Sister in Christ last night and realized that this life gives us so many uncertainties. We are bombarded with what ifs and possibilities to a point that we live in fear of the unknown. In this conversation, we talked about how the enemy will exaggerate the uncertainties to not only add to our fear but also so that he can prolong it and hold us captive to it. I am so thankful that the storm my Sister is going through is one I myself have encountered. This gave me insight to how that satan can use our environment and our closest circle against us. The battle is real… We must stay on guard. I was filled with gratefulness and gratitude to be able to pray with her and share my experience in a similar place.

My brother-in-law is in the military and he goes to training every few weeks. Our military is very intentional in keeping their soldiers equipped for service. This equipping that they receive allows them to be prepared at a moments notice to fight. It’s the same with us Sisters! We should be in God’s Word every, single, day. Our hearts should be full of joy and praise for the grace and the mercy that we are privileged to be unaware of the battle raging around us in the spiritual realm. We may feel mini-shocks of the magnitude of that battle but never the fullness of what our Savior shields us from. I don’t know about you but I’m thankful for that! Don’t get me wrong gals, I have lost loved ones and I don’t know where their souls are. I have children that have disappointed me with their actions and my spouse has let me down a time or two. Illness and tragic accidents have plowed through our lives. But there are some things that I am CERTAIN of.. In a life filled with uncertainties, I have a Savior that I am certain of.

John 16:33- “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” NIV

I love ‘The Message’ translation of this same verse and the way it speaks to my heart.

John 16:33- “I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakeable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.” THE MESSAGE

Romans 8:38-39- “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” ESV

Romans 8:38-39- “None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing-nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable,- absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.” THE MESSAGE

Now, THAT is certainty if I’ve ever seen it! Rounds of Holy chuckles for everyone! That’s a word for today.

We can live and breathe this Scripture knowing that we can have peace in a peace-less world. We will continue to experience difficulties and pain will most definitely be on the menu. But take heart guys! Jesus Christ our Savior has conquered the world!!

Till next time!
