A Fresh Start – New Beginnings!

I love the sight of a crisp and clean sheet of paper when I sit down to make a new list! I get excited and become energized to a certain degree!  That sheet of paper is a clean slate with no baggage left over. I think that is why I like it so much! The cleanliness of the page removes all clutter from my mind as I sit down to make my new list. Every single time I mark a few things off the list, I then find myself rewriting the list on a new page so it maintains that clean and neat appearance. I know, I know, they make medication for people like this. (smile)

Starting off a new year feels somewhat like that crisp sheet of paper. It is a time I get to refocus and set new goals or perhaps reinstitute old goals where I didn’t quite hit the mark.   I’m so glad we serve a God of love and second chances! I’m guilty of condemning myself way before God would even think of such things.

Romans 8:1

Therefore, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty or wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.

The secret lies in allowing the Spirit of God to rule and reign in our heart in all areas of our lives. As we grow and mature as Christians, lasting change will continue to occur in our lives as we journey onward. We don’t have to do every single thing perfect for God to love us! He loves us in spite of ourselves!

Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

As I look back at 2014 in retrospect I clearly see many blessings from God! He is so good and worthy to be praised!

I’m encouraged to know that I’ll enter into 2015 with a fresh start and new beginnings! I hope you too are excited to embark on a new year filled with opportunities to become more Christ-like as the Holy Spirit of God indwells us! Make this the best year EVER!

Confession: I’ve got this one thing I’ve been battling with for years and this is the year I’m giving it over to Him. Lasting change is on its way and I hope you’ll join me in surrendering any area of your life that is hindering you from becoming all that our sweet Lord intends for your life!

Do you have a confession to bring in full surrender before the Lord? I hope you’ll join me in allowing Him to create a pure heart in us.

Psalm 51:10

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Blessings in the New Year 2015!
