Gift A special ability; a notable capacity, talent, or endowment (Merriam-Webster’s Learner’s Dictionary)

What Word says….

Jeremiah 29:11 NIV For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
James 1:17 NIV Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
2 Timothy 1:6 KJV Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by…
2 Timothy 1:6 AMP That is why I remind you to fan into flame the gracious gift of God, [that inner fire—the special endowment]
Proverbs 18:16 16 NKJV A man’s gift makes room for him, And brings him before great men.
Psalm 139:14 NIV I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Growing up I found it hard to believe any of this. I grew up bullied and had no confidence, self-esteem or understanding of my self-worth. Many times I would cry to God wanting to know my purpose and why I exist. I was shy and didn’t talk much (at that time). It wasn’t until I discovered by passion and recognized all of the above scriptures and BELIEVED in God’s Word for my life that my life begin to change. Once you acknowledge the gifts God has given you and begin to WALK in them; I bare witness, the things you need, the people you need, the paths to be taken; the Holy Spirit will put them in your path. We are design and created with purpose and all that you need has been given to you.

Yes, I have had detours and wrong turns that prolonged His work! There are things we go through that lead us to where God wants us to be. Some of those things are because of choices that we make that can keep our good from us and minimize our gifts and the work God put in us to do.

Remember Psalms 139:14 MSG “Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb. I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; you know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, the days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.” (You might want to repeat this again out loud). Ask Him to lead and guide you in the paths you need to go. He will take you there!

Spiritual Gift Test
Knowing your spiritual gifts can lead to identification and/or confirmation of your passion and your purpose. Your God-given gifts can be contained in the work you do in and outside of the church. If you have not taken a gift assessment, I encourage you to do so.
If you have, but are not walking in them, I encourage you to take it again as a reminder of who you are! Walk by Faith and not by sight!

Here is the link. This link will take you to the Adult and Youth Spiritual Gifts test. I encourage you to make it a family affair and help guide your children into the knowledge of their God given gifts.
