Growing up, one of the most popular phrases used was, “daddy (or mommy) I didn’t hear you.”

I was either distracted by play time, TV, or just caught up in the moment of childhood freedom.  (Between you and me…sometimes I heard him or her and just pretended otherwise.)

Years later, I am learning that as my Heavenly Father speaks, I still suffer from childhood-itis.

“Lord, help me hear your voice by first expecting You to speak, wanting to hear You, and then positioning myself to hear.  Give me wisdom, discernment and the heart-set to obey whole-heartedly.”

Scripture of the Week

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him (1 John 3: 1).

Word of the Week

Redoubt (n): a small usually temporary enclosed defensive work, as in The attack left the soldiers outnumbered, so they retreated to the  redoubt and waited for reinforcements.
