Managing Life’s Priorities

Over the weekend, I traveled to attend a workshop this past Monday, October 4.  The workshop, “Managing Multiple Priorities,” was led by a Christian trainer who did an outstanding job delivering the subject matter.  About 10 minutes into his presentation, he expanded the workshop title to “Managing Your Life’s Priorities.”

One of our assignments was to list our values.  Often times, we “know” our values; however, how often do we write them and display them as reminders that help bring more intentionality and order to our lives?

I have to admit that I practiced this (as well as goal setting), but I stopped some time ago.  Now, I am publicly declaring a fresh start!!!  So, here are my top five:

  1. Faith
  2. Family
  3. Health (which includes exercise)
  4. Education
  5. Financial Health (which includes getting out and staying out of debt)

Mr. Mallon, the trainer/facilitator, reminded me that I need to display this list in places where I will be reminded daily.  He said that this is just one way to keep your life on “track.”

What are your values? Are you living them out?  If you have a family, do your family members know your family values? It’s worth taking the time to write them down and share them.  We only have one life.  Let’s live it to the glory of God.

Here’s to our mental health!
