Isaiah 43:19

For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

Happy New Year! I LOVE A NEW YEAR!! It is so exciting to hear everyone talk about their New Year Resolutions. I think we all want to be healthier and do better with our finances but for me, this year I want to do better with studying God’s Word and instilling those values in my children. My husband and I are in college (life is BUSY) so for us we plan to spend more time together in study and prayer as well. Looking back, I can see what God has done since the last New Year. It is staggering! I have had family and friends give their lives to Jesus. Babies have been born and my sweet Aunt Betty went home to be with Jesus. It has been a year of ups and downs. What will 2014 hold?

In this passage, events are shaping themselves as the deliverance approaches. Matthew Henry’s Commentary describes this as,”The deliverance from Babylon is foretold, but there is reference to greater events. The redemption of sinners by Christ, the conversion of the Gentiles, and the recall of the Jews, are described. All that is to be done to rescue sinners, and to bring the believer to glory, is little, compared with that wondrous work of love, the redemption of man.”

We know what is to come! We know that Jesus Christ our Savior is coming back! Time is short and the world is waiting to hear the Good News! What will the New Year be like for you? Greater events than last year? I think so! How many will hear the Good News through you?  We are here to bring the Gospel to sinners and through us they will see the wondrous works of His love and grace. Let’s bring glory and honor to our redeemer, our mighty counselor, The Prince of Peace. Let us start the New Year out right.. let’s pray

Heavenly Father, my heart is full in expectation of what is to come.. help us to honor You and may You be overcome by the sweet aroma of our praises to You. Open doors for us to further the Gospel, take us to places we never thought we would see for You! Help us remain focused over the next year. In Jesus Holy Name! AMEN!!

Praying for you daily!

Till next time!

Happy New Year,

Shana
