Tuesday is the day!

I joined a gym back a few months ago.  Having had bypass surgery in August and being overweight, I was told I needed to lose weight.  I know me and know that just by joining a gym that would not be good enough, so I hired a personal trainer to meet with me three days a week.  Week 1 was great…I felt inspired and motivated. My trainer (Kevin) pushed me and made me work hard.   Week 2…I had my stroke and could not exercise.  Week 3…week 4….week 5.  I keep telling Kevin, next week I will be back and then something happens and I can’t make it.  And now I have no motivation at all!!  I told myself and Kevin that Tuesday is the day!! Yep, I am gonna start back Tuesday!  The day after Monday, if the weather is good and if…. I sound really enthusiastic don’t I??!!

Psalm 73:26 says “my flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”  Boy is my flesh failing now!!  I am a stress eater and have really gained the last few weeks.  I HAVE to get that motavation back!  I need to remember that my body is God’s temple!  1 Cor. 6:12 reminds us “Everything is permissable for me BUT not everything is beneficial!”  Ouch!! So I was allowed that candy bar, but it sure didn’t help my waist line!  I have to keep reminding myself that I need to fill my temple with the good stuff!!

I pray that if you are like me and need to control something in your life that you remember that God is our strength.  When we want that candy bar, we turn to Him.  Pray for His help in taking temptation away.

So Tuesday is the day…..

God Bless,

Aundie Starks
